2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. Specifically:
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:
Processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for (account management, link hosting, analytics).
Improving the Service, preventing fraud, and ensuring security — balanced against your privacy rights.
Where you explicitly opt in, such as weekly summary emails or marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Where we are required by law to retain or disclose data.
4. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited situations:
With your consent
When you explicitly authorise us to share information with a third party.
Service providers
With trusted vendors who help us run LinkGate (see Section 5). They are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your data to provide services to us.
Legal requirements
When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LinkGate, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If this happens, we will notify affected users before their data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Aggregated or de-identified data
We may share data that has been aggregated or stripped of personally identifying information, so that it cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
To provide the Service we rely on the following infrastructure partners. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:
Hosting, deployment, and edge network
Database, authentication, and storage
Transactional email delivery
Domain registration and DNS
6. Data Security & Protection
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
All connections use TLS (HTTPS). Data in transit between your browser and our servers is always encrypted.
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sensitive data is encrypted in our database.
Strict role-based access limits who can view user data internally.
If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulator as required by law, typically within 72 hours.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Request that we delete your account and personal data. You can also delete your account directly from your dashboard settings.
Request a machine-readable export of your data.
Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved.
Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from marketing emails).
8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the Service.
Essential cookies: Required for authentication, security, and core site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies: Help us understand usage patterns so we can improve the Service. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Preference cookies: Store your settings (like theme selection) so the experience feels consistent.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from using parts of the Service. We do not honour “Do Not Track” browser signals at this time, as there is no industry-wide standard for compliance.
9. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, to comply with tax or legal reporting obligations).
Aggregated, anonymised data that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement purposes.
10. International Data Transfers
LinkGate is hosted on infrastructure distributed globally (primarily via Vercel and Supabase). Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the service provider's compliance with recognised frameworks.
11. Children's Privacy
LinkGate is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at contact.linkgate@gmail.com and we will delete the information promptly.
12. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights:
Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
We do not sell your personal information. If this ever changes, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
To make a CCPA request, email contact.linkgate@gmail.com with the subject line “CCPA Request”. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days.

• Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
